yeah i really liked this work, i did not want to upload it but i did not feel that it was finished and it would be selfish to keep it to myself.

and as yuo konw i am these days experimenting with lighting and different time of day and season.

definitely selfish to keep it to yourself :)

its good that your experimenting, and I can say, even though you are trying new things, your art does not seem to be suffering from it.  whenever i try new things, the work looks really off and not quite good at all, but your works do not seem to be suffering from that same affliction that mine do lol

that is because i am not uploading the countless fails and failed attempts,
one thing i have have learned is show works in progress or a project taking from but i don't show any simple doodle or studying of form and gesture or anatomy.
plus no one wants to see any of that,

funny thing i am now studying more different things like bits of graphic design, why it works in art and often why another shape or graphic don't.

don't be hard on yourself, most artists never show you their failures, and practice something enough times
you will knock it out of the field, i am these days studying why ballerinas look so smooth. trying to master drawing their form and understand the movement.

that would be great to see, the ballerinas.  I have always been fascinated by them.  I had told you before, I love the slop of a womans neck, I find that so graceful and elegant, and ballerinas are much like that for me.  so sculpted, all those curves just like the neck, elegant and graceful.

Oh I have a ton of doodles from my drawing classes, and some from years ago.  I wanted to be a sketch artist as a teen and I was always seen walking around with my sketch pad.  I had recently cleaned my basement and found them.  seems like forever ago and I remember at the time I thought they were so good, now I look back at them, 30 years later and see how bad they were lol

oh i went through that phase along long time ago.
and its normal to see that.
I think its when your visual memory is rapidly improving
so when you like back at old works you can see the mistakes or flaws.

Notice how come you did not see them before or at that present time?
two to three years back i would see a old drawing of mine and i would think "was i that crap"
now its more "ok should have detailed that more or shaded that less and so forth ".

i have my old sketches and i think a few are here, the good owns and the ones that mean something.
all my paintings and efforts are here.

i have studies and ofcourse practices and foundation works as well, i was lucky last year a mentor of mine, did not for say teach me anything about painting but rather made me learn by myslef what and how to do it on my own.

I remember you telling me about your mentor last year and that you learned alot about who you were as an artist.  looks like it definitely worked out for you on that front

your right about the sketch thing, ya they were awful, but i can look at them with more of a critical eye

well here is a study i have done recently Hands Study 1
its ofcourse a test and a study that i have learnt that makes you visual memoery and painting skills improve rapidly, say around four times faster.
so what would take a week
now takes around 2 days and a month of studying takes only a week.
now its by no means done. it was just in around 40 to 50 minutes doing the drill,(i will get into that)

so my mentor liu fang taught me this style of studying art,
what you do is like speeding painting try to draw the form or things that you are drawing but quickly,
Now rather then drawing shapes and lines and blah blah blah, first one is just like a gesture drawing, all it is is just keeping that flow going, nothing in nature is rigid or straight so like water or a tree branch, follow the flow and let your eyes flow.
now once the silhouette looks good, all i add are just strokes and dabs to show some form.
and as you can see its painting of a grey scale,

the second one is just geometry and basic sketching in photoshop.
just to test the old masters painting with pen and paper.

also i have noticed some key slopes and landmarks on the arm and forearm.
the last three are just different lights and different temperatures. not completely rendered, but thats how i go about it, now usually i do around 20 to 30 drawings, i think there are only 5 or 6 here.

Oh damn, sounds like some great time.. *cough* ._. Now when you've managed to build up a fine way of living again you migt worry about the lost watchers, but that probably is your least problem next to those happenings ^^" Is it alright now, with your job and such? o:

You're welcome :)  Daww o: I personally love shading x')

Oh okay, at least it's become somewhat better. View it somewhat optimistic: it can't get that much worse o: Have you considered selling you art to maybe gain some money to get a better life? ..Stupid question, any artist has I think..

Aaah yes those days are sht ._. I then always force myself to draw anyways (or am at school where I do draw anyways)
